About Kita-Burakuri Shopping Street

Kita-Burakuri Shopping Street is a 200-meter-long arcade located in the heart of Wakayama City, with a history dating back to the Edo period.
The street is lined with a unique mix of long-established shops, including traditional kimono stores, watch shops, electronics stores, yarn shops, and cozy cafés.
As you walk through the arcade, you will find well-preserved Showa-era signboards still in place, creating a nostalgic atmosphere.

In recent years, shops and events led by a younger generation have begun to emerge, incorporating retro elements into modern store designs and blending history with contemporary culture
